145-year-old Syracuse church to be turned into apartments

Syracuse, N.Y. — Developer Mark Congel plans to transform the 145-year-old former West Genesee United Methodist Church in Syracuse into apartments.

Congel said he plans to convert the church at 1700 W. Genesee St. into 24 one- and two-bedroom market-rate apartments, with a small retail or food-service shop on the first floor. Tenant parking will be available on the north side of the property….
